AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Do you have business savvy and technical background necessary to help further establish Amazon leadership by growing the partner-led migration and modernisation business?

Key job responsibilities

You will own the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon’s platform within the AWS partner ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include identifying and engaging with key consulting and technology partners to help AWS customers migrate at scale and speed; developing and executing enablement, marketing, and promotion strategies to help partners better engage with AWS customers; and enabling AWS product/service teams, business development and sales teams to better engage with our partner ecosystem. You’ll also work closely with the product/service teams to help them evolve the products/services and address issues, concerns, and requests from AWS partners.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to engage with partner business teams as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organisationally to build consensus.

About the team

Migrating customers onto AWS Cloud is a top, strategic initiative for the company. The Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) is a comprehensive and proven cloud migration program that packages best practices, expertise, tooling, and financial incentives for customers to make cloud adoption easier and accelerate migrations to AWS. To support MAP, the Partner Migrations team works closely with AWS Partners who engage customers and migrate legacy workloads to AWS. The team includes a WW core team responsible for strategy, operations, and program management, and two-person in geo/segment teams consisting of Partner Development Specialists and Migration Architects shaping strategy, enablement and execution

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience building and executing business development strategy and plans with direct or channel sales experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience with technology transformation initiatives

  • Experience working closely with consulting partners and understanding different consulting business models

  • Experience working with Independent Software Vendors in a co-sell capacity
