The Amazon Consumer Payments supports multiple payment products and processes millions of transactions every day across numerous countries and payment methods. Over 50 million customers and merchants send tens of billions of dollars moving at light-speed through our systems annually, and use our products on and off Amazon.

The Amazon Payments business needs a world class Technical Program Manager who designs, drives, launches and owns the Amazon financial marketplace that is set to offer the biggest selection of financial products in the world.

This role requires working closely with businesses across Amazon, the product management team, development team, marketing and key software development teams across the company to define strategy and requirements, and then lead projects through operations design and delivery. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential. This is an ideal role for candidates who are excited about Amazon's expansion cross-border and would like to simplify the process for our customers and sellers across the globe.

The ideal candidate has thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities shift quickly. He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence.

Qualified candidates have experience defining projects and features, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating large cross functional projects and schedules, and delivering complex projects with accurate results at high scale.

A day in the life

Need to be able to dive deep into technical problems. Should have passion for people management and mentorship.

Should be able manage requirement through collaboration with the tech and business teams. Manage communication in a simple form with the leadership both verbally and through documentation. Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature. Project management experience with cross functional geographically distributed teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
