You should be comfortable diving deep into technical architectures and requirements, be able to quickly identify solutions to challenges discovered during development, and ready to work with latest mobile technology. Prior experience in building solutions for video streaming, mobile app or advertising is required. This is a unique opportunity to work with some of the best Engineers at Amazon and be part of a rapidly growing initiative which is going to become a huge area of growth for Amazon's Advertising business and pioneer the usage of new technology at Amazon scale.

Key job responsibilities

• Influence strategy and roadmap through your technical and non-technical insight

• Work with a team of engineers and product managers to understand and refine the scope of incoming projects and to ensure deliverables meet a high-quality bar

• Actively experiment and prototype with novel technologies that improve the customer experience or solve business needs

• Mentor junior team members in career growth and assist in task management and Agile planning

• Work with multiple internal and external engineering teams to learn and apply best practices

• Organize and participate in collaborative Q&A sessions, workshops, presentations to share your technical know-how with the rest of the team

• Understanding of device-side software design principles for security, performance, and reliability

• Drive building customer experiences on mobile, TV (Living room devices) using cross platform UI libraries and graphics API

• Solve distributed systems and recommendation serving problems that manifest only at extremely high scale.

• Experience in developing Machine Learning and Personalization Models from scratch and taking it into production at scale

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline

• Strong knowledge and production code experience in Java, C/C++ and Python

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

• At least 10 years of experience in distributed technologies, object-oriented design & programming methodologies and data storage (relational, key-value)

• At least 5 years of experience with building Video Streaming platform related services.

• A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly and deliver results

• Experience in OTT / video streaming industry specifically in one of the three areas: 1) Personalization and ML or Transcoding technology 2) Experience working in Android & Player Tech 3) Experience building CMS systems & Video Catalogue Management systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience building programmatic ad serving systems.

• Hands-on experience with open-source technologies, web-services and big data.

• Hands-on experience with distributed systems design, including scalability and fault tolerance.

• Strong communication skills.
