Amazon Head of Product Quality, Amazon Private Brand Quality in Shenzhen, China
Description
The Amazon Private Label Product Quality team is looking for a smart, energetic, hard-working, and creative member to join our team. The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate excellent judgment and intuition in decision-making, actively and continuously improve their knowledge of Amazon's business, platform, and related technologies. This is an exciting and challenging position, providing quality support as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Amazon's Shenzhen office to ensure successful adherence with customer satisfaction and global product safety requirements.
This position leads a product quality team and supports Amazon's global quality initiatives. By supporting quality development and improvement approaches while creating innovative solutions that move at the speed of the Internet, this position will provide an opportunity to apply SME knowledge in a new and exciting way. We are seeking a talented Quality Leader with direct experience in product development, product validation, product certification, inspections and audits, testing, and failure analysis to support our rapidly growing and evolving business.
Key responsibilities:
Manage quality metrics and performance by ensuring necessary reviews and actions are in-place, leading meetings and projects as needed globally.
Integrate strong and clear analysis and business rationale into sound decision making
Drive scalable business solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. Develop best-in-class processes and systems and drive continuous improvement.
Apply SME level knowledge of quality strategies and processes in multiple product categories by engagement with the vendors and original design manufacturer
Communicate technical, quality and process requirements to non-technical stakeholders
Monitor, train and drive vendors to improve quality and customer satisfaction
Monitor, train and drive third-party quality service providers to conduct product testing and failure analysis

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering from a reputable university
Minimum 15 years of experience in quality management, product development or product testing in manufacturing or a global retailer
Strong knowledge of product quality and development processes in different industries
Experience in one or more of the following categories: Electronics, Appliances, Furniture, Home & Lifestyle, Apparel, etc.
Determined and resilient. Ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate.
High attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent business judgment and a practical, common-sense approach to getting the job done. Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get work done
Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are driven in parallel
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business, engineering or science preferred
10+ years of experience successfully managing complex product projects with large, highly skilled, cross-functional teams.
Experience with multiple concurrent projects and tight schedules
Familiar with agile development methods. Product life cycle end-to-end management experience
Ability to handle ambiguity, function well, and clearly define processes despite loose structure
