Amazon Business Development Manager, GTM Team in Seoul, South Korea

Do you want to be a key part of a team focused on increasing the reach of cloud computing through driving strategic initiatives? Do you have the business development experience, technical acumen, and communication skills needed to help further establish Amazon as the leader in the industry/segments? AWS is looking for a Business Development leader who understands business transformation trends leveraging digital technologies including cloud across the industries, and is passionate and capable of driving market development and business opportunity cultivation across the sector for AWS, leveraging the richness of the AWS cloud computing platform to position and drive the right technology solutions, enable the ecosystem, and address changing industry needs.

Your responsibilities will include identification of customer mission/goal, matching the Amazon/AWS capability in terms of business/technology/culture to help the customers to achieve their goals, building strategic agendas orchestrating strategic customers/partners and key internal stakeholders, leading the process to conclude the strategic initiatives/deals, to create significant new business opportunities for AWS. You will enable the AWS sales teams selling to accounts in related sectors through your strategic initiatives you drive working with cross function teams such as SA(Solutions Architect), Partner, Marketing, SBD(Strategic Business Development), AWSi(AWS industry), WWSO(WorldWide Specialist Organization), ProServe(Professional Service) and PACE(Prototyping And Cloud Engineering) located in global regions including Seattle(HQ), Singapore(APJ) as well as Seoul(AWS Korea).

The ideal candidate will have a business development or consulting background working with customers at the CxO/VP level, with a good understanding of business trend and emerging technologies in the industry. You should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technology challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, strategic thinking, insight in the industries and technology acumen is a must.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the GTM(Go To Market) team to drive overall AWS market and technical enablement strategy across industries.

• Develop a GTM strategy & mechanism and execute business development plan aligned with the AWS strategic direction, working with key internal stakeholders.

• Create significant new business opportunities working with AWS team and major partners by engaging with strategic customers.

• Create insightful content to help/accelerate cloud-based business transformation including digital transformation trend, AWS customer cases, AWS offering and share them to private/public event to enlighten the customers.

• Lead the field enablement to help internal stakeholders to be equipped with AWS GTM approach.

• Understand the business/technology requirements of our customers and work closely with the AWS service teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.

Basic qualifications:

• Total 5+ years of business development or management/digital consulting or IT presales experience with Bachelor's Degree in related field

• The right person will be capable of catching up the business trend and understanding the complexities of IT environments across the industries

• Strong verbal and written communications skills including fluent English as well as Korean are basic requirements.

• Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, including strategic partners.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience on the digital transformation project.

• MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering Degree.

• Experience in public cloud / software development / data center / infrastructure / networking technologies with ability to understand current and future customer needs and present AWS technical benefits.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Total 515 years of career including 5+ years of business development or management/digital consulting or IT presales experience with Bachelor's Degree in related

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
