Alexa Shopping is a strategic investment for Amazon. We strive to enable shopping in everyday life by allowing customers to instantly order whatever they need, by simply interacting with their Smart Devices such as Echo, Fire TV or any Alexa powered device. Alexa Shopping aims for Alexa to understand the needs of all shoppers regardless of language, background, abilities or economic means.

We are seeking a Principal Program Manager who is passionate about technology, innovation, Operations excellence and improving the customer experience. This is a strategic role and highly cross-functional, requiring collaboration and influence across product, science, engineering and Operations. The Principal PM will closely partner with OPTIMA Operations and Program leaders to define and drive the Operations strategy and execution for programs focused on Alexa Shopping Business, which is redefining the way customers shop, leveraging conversational capabilities of LLMs.

A successful candidate will thrive in ambiguity, bringing process and discipline to a highly dynamic and fluid environment. This person will excel at managing and influencing broad stakeholder groups, establish best-practices that can be scaled across the Shopping organization, and have the ability to crisply communicate deliverables.

This role will require excellent written and oral communication skills, data-driven analyses and insights, exceptional judgment, strong interpersonal skills, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for serving customers. You must enjoy context-switching and partnering at all levels of the organization to deliver results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead key, strategic projects for large, complex workstreams, identifying, assessing, and prioritizing opportunities based on strategic goals, business needs, and customer value

*Organize and structure teams to deliver and execute program milestones

  • Consult with key partners to determine program prioritization, while sourcing and coordinating resources

  • Proactively monitor progress against goals while anticipating and mitigating risks, creating and owning solutions, and successfully resolving issues

  • Act as a subject matter expert by contributing perspective, insights, and knowledge to guide the establishment of new processes and systems

This role will be part of OPTIMA organization within Alexa Shopping. We at OPTIMA enable Amazon to deliver a superior shopping experience to customers worldwide. We are a global, cross functional team providing end-to-end data solutions for the LLM lifecycle, leveraging cutting-edge technology alongside our operational excellence. We enable shopping feature teams deliver superior CX quality by providing them reliable and comprehensive insights and ground truth data to measure and train ML (Machine Learning) models and handle annotation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) across 11 different languages.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 7+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

  • Experience in leading programs related to AI/ML/LLM operations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
