We are seeking a Hardware Commodity Specialist to join a team of one of Amazon’s fastest growing commodities. In this role, you will plan, coordinate and manage orders and allocations of late-bind battery components working with internal and external cross-functional teams. These qualifications are critical to help enable AWS’s AIS team achieve continuity of supply and cost goals.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with high attention to detail, and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Candidates must have excellent analytical capabilities, program management experience, be comfortable diving deep into data.

Key job responsibilities

  • Understand forecasting, demand planning, material planning, and manufacturing processes to verify supply commitments

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders analyze demand, create orders, reconcile allocation and manage invoicing and payment

  • Understand the supply chain network and work with various analytics and software development teams to drive automation

  • Develop analytical tools and dashboards to track metrics, monitor SLAs, and report findings

  • Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders to help shape solution design

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field, or additional 2+ Years work experience in supply chain or sourcing or procurement of hardware in lieu of a degree

  • 2+ years of work experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, manufacturing

  • 2+ years of experience with data analysis tools such as Excel VBA, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc..

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating, iterating, and improving end-to-end global component sourcing procurement and supply chain strategies

  • Creative thinking skills with emphasis on enabling solutions to solve problems that may not have one clear answer

  • Knowledge of global component supply chain

  • Experience with supply chain modeling and other statistical analysis tools

  • Advanced knowledge of data center products and their global supply chains

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $55,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $120,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
