Amazon Financial Analyst, Global Prime Finance in Seattle, Washington

Global Prime Finance is looking for a data-driven Financial Analyst to lead the planning activities for allocating Prime subscription revenue across the Prime benefits. This Financial Analyst will partner with Prime Science to leverage econometric modeling that assesses how engagement with benefits drives member sign-up and retention. This high-visibility role understands how the science works and provides the financial impacts to the forecast and actual allocation of Prime subscription revenue to Benefit Finance teams. This role will also work with financial teams for each of the benefit businesses since this allocation is an important component of their profitability. The Prime benefits include Shipping, Video, Music, Gaming, Photos, Reading, and Grocery.

Key job responsibilities

• Planning Prime subscription revenue allocation for Operating Plan and Quarterly Guidance cycles;

• Planning Prime subscription revenue allocation for Quarter End Close;

• Partnering with Prime Science for understanding econometric model output and timelines;

• Explaining results to senior audiences across multiple Amazon businesses;

• Planning Unearned Revenue, a balance sheet account for Prime Subscription Revenue;

• Creating and improving financial models and variance analysis tools;

• Simplifying processes with automation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
