Amazon Finance Manager, Sponsored Brands Finance in Seattle, Washington

Description

As a Finance Manager, you will closely work with business and finance leaders to develop financial models for both short and long term business and financial goals, evaluate new business opportunities, and drive business initiatives for Brand Ads Advertising. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.

The successful candidate will have shown experience in past roles influencing business leaders and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon, and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and the capability to independently drive business partnership.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the long and short term forecasting for Sponsored Brands

  • Assist in the development of new advertising products by evaluating the business, understanding customer needs and value drivers, and crafting high impact growth strategies for the business

  • Partner with the Brand Ads business team to anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; identify and drive growth and improvement opportunities.

  • Manage financial and operational performance metrics for your business and provide clear and concise commentary for leadership e.g. Monthly Business Reviews

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience

  • 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
