Amazon Finance Manager, S3/Glacier Finance in Seattle, Washington

AWS Service Finance is looking for a Finance Manager (L6) to support cost and capacity in the Object Storage (S3) business.

AWS S3 Finance seeks a world class Finance Manager to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with key business partners to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the S3 services space.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive controllership by managing capital spend reporting, tracking KPI’s, and performing variance analysis.

  • Develop financial insights and narratives during all planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.

  • Closely partner with S3 business team to drive capacity utilization improvement.

  • Taking the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to set and track overall financial performance against goals.

  • Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable solutions to support business growth.

This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management. This role has regular interaction with various business teams and requires strong people skills

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • MBA, or CPA

  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
