Amazon Finance Manager, Amazon Music Finance in Seattle, Washington

The Amazon Music Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to partner with our Amazon Music Merch team. Our Amazon Music Merch team is focused on developing innovative artist merch partnerships that drive our artist merch business and accelerates our Amazon Music fandom flywheel. These direct partnerships with artists create monetization and fandom opportunities for both artists and Amazon Music across online and in-venue concert sales channels.

This role provides a unique opportunity to help pioneer new features and monetization strategies in an emerging area with ownership over all associated finance functions including the development of: short- and long-term business goals, financial forecasts and analyses, and evaluation of business performance. This position will work closely with business teams to create financial models and provide decision support, including supporting product roadmap discussions, and developing new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables, is a self-starter with strong business and financial modeling skills, has a keen attention to detail and good track record of influencing business partners. The candidate will also have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, and problem-solve. A strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles is also essential.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
