Amazon Community Manager – AI Engineering Hub in Santa Clara, California

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a driven and focused community manager to lead community engagement, partnerships, and event strategy, within a new AI-centric community event hub in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This role will sit within our AWS Developer Relations organization. Our goal is to win the hearts and minds of developers around the world by meeting them where they are and providing the right technical education, tools, and resources to enable developer success.

As Community Manager for the AWS AI Engineering hub, you will be responsible for community engagement and partnership strategy for a new AI Community hub in downtown San Francisco which will become the center of the Bay Area AI tech scene. You will own creating and expanding relationships with existing Bay Area tech communities, while also seeking partnership with local technology firms who share common interests in AI Engineering. You will be responsible for strategy of ongoing community events which will focus on various themes around AI engineering and how these trends align to the next generation of modern application development. Ultimately you will act as a liaison between the Bay Area community of AI engineers, and our internal AWS Developer Relations, Startup Marketing, and Product Marketing teams.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

· Identify, engage with, and manage relationships with key Bay Area tech communities and User Groups. Partner with leaders of these communities to discover mutually beneficial opportunities for in person engagement.

· Create partnerships with Bay Area tech firms as well as others with common interests around AI engineering, to deliver educational activities to Bay Area AI engineering community members.

· Own end-to-end community event strategy for both AWS-led and 3P community-led tech & AI Events in the Bay Area, working closely with Developer Advocates, and partnering with Events Managers to deliver best-in-class event experiences.

· Work closely with AWS Developer Relations and Startup Marketing stakeholders, to share learnings and community wins to markets outside of the Bay Area.

· Deliver a vision for how these developer touch points align to business goals while also driving mutual value and earning (long term) trust in developer communities.

· Build and manage processes for analyzing and quantifying the impact (both short and long term) of engagements at third party developer events.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, marketing, or other related fields, or commensurate experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs

  • Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives

  • Experience owning and driving large-scale cross-functional programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
