Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Kuiper Marketing team is looking for a creative, analytically minded, and goal oriented Sr. Customer Insights Manager to help inform marketing strategy through a deep understanding of our customers and industry. As an ideal candidate, you have a strong understanding of different research methods to inform marketing strategy and measure impact, spanning qualitative, quantitative, and syndicated solutions. You know when it’s important to be pragmatic in designing and when creativity is needed. You're interested in pushing the boundaries of research using proven agile methods while also pursuing continuous improvement to raise the bar on research practices and scale efforts. You’re a passionate researcher with strong observational and analytical skills, able to collaborate effectively with other teams; and have a relentless determination to do what’s right for Amazon's customers. You work with minimal direction, are able to explore and synthesize, and move quickly while delivering high-quality outputs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with internal partners and stakeholders to define research needs, identify the right research opportunities, and roadmap activities.

  • Own all aspects of the lifecycle (methodology / study design, budgeting, programming, execution, analysis, reporting and communication).

  • Combine and distill disparate information sources for holistic insights, and connect the “what” with the “so what” and “now what” to drive business impact.

  • Build scalable and nimble customer insights solutions, tools, and processes.

  • Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization, and drive adoption of research findings through well planned and cohesive socialization mechanisms.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years conducting marketing research

  • Experience applying qualitative, quantitative, and syndicated research to inform marketing and business decisions

  • Ability to manage research projects end to end (designing, managing, analyzing, drafting actionable recommendations, and presenting up to senior leadership)

  • Understanding of statistical analysis and causal inference

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, economics, business, or related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • US and international work experience

  • Experience moderating qualitative research (e.g., facilitating groups and IDIs) and running quantitative research independently (i.e., leveraging self-service survey solutions)

  • End to end marketing research solution experience (e.g., from segmentation and persona development, to concept / message and ad testing, through to brand and consumer tracking)

  • Experience building measures and metrics from scratch, and developing reporting solutions

  • Proficient with Excel and exposure to / ability to learn statistical tools (e.g., SPSS and R)

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships / needs in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines

  • Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

  • Experience influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Ability to efficiently solve problems and work in a start-up environment

  • Ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations through the use of advanced statistics and causal inference

  • Strong understanding of internet, communications, and satellite industries

  • Master’s degree in marketing, economics, business, or related discipline

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
