Amazonian Experience & Technology (AET) is seeking an experienced Content Operations Editor to support content lifecycle management tasks for employment content and policies.

In this role, you will manage the lifecycle of consequential employee-facing short- and long-form content. A key aspect of this role is upholding stringent service level agreements and operational excellence standards, ensuring timely and high-quality content delivery. You will support publishing content to a growing list of channels and audiences, including artificial intelligence applications.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and technical aptitude. Strong interpersonal skills, customer obsession, and the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders are essential.

Curiosity about how things work, willingness to learn fast, and openness to getting and applying feedback in your work are crucial. Key job responsibilities

• Global content updates: Responding to customer requests to create and update content in our content management system in line with process and policy changes within defined contact SLAs and delivery timelines.

• Content editing and proofreading: Reviewing and editing written content, such as articles, policies, assets, or content fragments for grammar and spelling, accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.

• Metadata framework reuse: Adhering to and promoting the use of our content taxonomy, enabling discovery and reusability by ensuring all content is tagged and described appropriately.

• Content reuse: Identify opportunities to reuse content and reduce manual effort required to maintain duplicate information in multiple places.

• Annotation: Collaborate and share knowledge around annotations, enabling subject matter experts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to contribute to or leverage annotations effectively.

• Project management: Coordinating and managing the content lifecycle, including setting deadlines, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely publication of materials.

• Quality control: Audit existing content and analyze data to maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all content.

• Workflow management: Recommend improvements to content operations workflows based on stakeholder feedback and observed pain points.

• Staying up-to-date: Keeping abreast of industry trends, style guide updates, and best practices in editing and publishing.

A day in the life

As a Content Operations Editor, your day revolves around meticulously managing Amazon's employment content lifecycle. You field requests for creating and updating policies, articles, and assets in the content management system, ensuring timely delivery. With a keen eye for detail, you edit materials for accuracy, clarity, and style adherence. You promote content reusability by applying metadata taxonomies and identifying opportunities to remove redundancies for operational excellence. Collaborating cross-functionally, you coordinate on content projects, audit quality, and evaluate content effectiveness.

About the team

AET provides employee services, benefits, and technology for Amazon’s global workforce of over 1M people. Within this organization, AET Content Services supports the creation, publication, translation, and maintenance of employment-related content and communications, controlling for freshness, accuracy, relevancy, accessibility, and compliance. To deliver on this mission, we centrally manage the authoring of employment content and policies on behalf of cross-functional content owning teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Professional content management experience in a system like Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful, or WordPress

• Advanced English language skills with full proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation (minimum C1)

• Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Editorial, or a related field

• Excellent writing and editing skills

• Experience working with reusable or “headless” content

• High attention to detail and adherence to style guidelines.

• Demonstrated success learning and explaining business processes

• Demonstrated knowledge of SEO principles

• Good judgment and open communication

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment

• Work experience in a global and cross-functional team environment

• Experience with content metrics and analysis

• Experience with or exposure to Amazon business processes

• Experience in a multi-language publishing environment managing content for an international audience
