Would you like to be part of a team that is supporting the rapid growth of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) business? AWS is looking for an accomplished Senior Program Manager (PM) to work with the growth initiative teams across AWS to support and execute strategic programs. We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial PM for the development, implementation and operationalization of scalable mechanisms to drive AWS growth and profitability. These scalable mechanisms will include the areas of Deal Pursuits and Reviews, Deal Funding, Finance Operations, Risk Management and Compliance, and Field Enablement.

In this role, you will: 1/frequently monitor key metrics, 2/distill insights and report in business reviews to the key stakeholders, 3/provide business requirements to build reports and telemetry for frequent monitoring, 4/ensure procedures are followed to ensure compliance within financial guardrails, 5/collect best practices and insights that can be replicated in other cases, and 6/triage requests in the queue to balance workloads across the team to maximize capacity while matching skills and expertise to the type of deal review. In this role, you will coordinate closely with the growth initiative teams, as well as extended teams including senior AWS executives, the AWS sales organization, partner organization, business development, and professional services.

You must have proven track record of successfully delivering and executing strategic programs, collaborating well with business and technical teams, managing program operations, have a passion for technology, a high degree of business acumen, and a broad knowledge of programs and operations.

Key job responsibilities

• Engage initiative teams to evaluate and review complex deals and compelling proposals to best address outcomes of our most strategic growth initiatives

• Coordinate across many AWS teams with impact and visibility at the highest levels of AWS

• Develop plans and processes, and routinely communicate and document the measurement and impact of strategic programs to the leadership team, and include program perspectives in other planning processes as needed

• Build repeatable processes, tools, and reporting for globally dispersed teams, to simplify execution on strategic deals

• Develop global communications plans for the initiative and ensure AWS Leadership is kept updated on performance, risks and blockers

• Handle a high volume of deals and the fast pace of the cloud computing market

• Set and manage the cadence for monitoring performance against goals, ensuring all stakeholders understand and plan for what needs to be delivered throughout the year

• Facilitate meetings, working sessions, and exercises that assist the leadership team in optimizing effectiveness amongst themselves and across the organization in general

• Establish credibility and maintain working relationships with partner groups involved with growth initiatives (Legal, Finance, Business Development, etc.)

• Take on special projects on an as needed basis to include delivering on narrowly focused tasks to broader ranging initiatives that need definition and the curation of insights

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience engaging senior executives on high priority initiatives

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience working with/for Systems Integrators or ISVs

  • Experience leading data-driven analyses and influencing results

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a multi-geo organization

  • Working experience and knowledge of cloud landscape

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
