Description

The Amazon Devices and Services Security team works to ensure that our devices and services are designed and implemented to the high standards required to maintain and enhance customer trust. Security and Privacy are paramount to maintaining trust and we need to continue to build trusted products, maintain and operate trusted environments, and advocate trust to customers and stakeholders. The team develops security automation for devices & services, performs risk assessments and ensures products are compliant with industry standards.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be expected to seek out and clearly communicate relevant data to support complex business decisions, and drive the right recommendations in a compelling and effective way. They create plans that have objective, measurable success criteria and clearly communicate progress and outcomes. They anticipate the gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures to help their organization produce the best possible results for our customers. You will interact with a team of highly skilled and experienced security engineers, software developers to assess Amazon’s devices, services, applications, and websites; and partner with other Amazon security teams (Amazon Core Security, Devices & Services detection teams, Business Security teams, etc.) to remediate/mitigate risks and sharpen our software development lifecycle.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build and contribute to roadmap: Identify customer needs, technology/industry trends, challenges, use cases, and related services to help build a roadmap of studies to evaluate and improve customer experience.

  • Manage ambiguity: Independently take steps necessary to understand complex technologies and customer use cases across a variety of customer personas and product categories to produce meaningful insights that drive improved customer experience.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with internal technical stakeholders (e.g., technical program managers, software developers, solution architects, security engineering teams) to execute programs and work cross-functionally with peers/colleagues globally to support best practices, and shared opportunities. This includes applying security expertise in technical discussions, keeping all stakeholders productively engaged.

  • Directly represent our organization to business leaders and technical staff at all levels of the company, including preparing and presenting detailed, written information for multiple audiences

  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation

  • Identify and produce appropriate business metrics, and continually assess them to improve over time

A day in the life

You will own and contribute to programs that evaluate the customer experiences supported by security issue management services, as well as technology/industry trends and the voice of the customer. You will join an expanding team, leverage your skills, and apply a variety of methodologies to drive these programs. You will collaborate with product teams and senior leaders to provide insights and drive improvements that help us achieve our vision to be Earth's Most Customer-Centric company.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • 5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
