Amazon Capacity Install Technician, AWS in Mesa, Arizona
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Capacity Install Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will launch cutting edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments. To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability. You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.
Key job responsibilities
Install, test, inventory, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords
Work with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positions
Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
Ensure proper standards are maintained for cabling and racks
Ability to safely use material handling tools and equipment
Participate in site audits

Self-starter with strong work ethic
Good communication skills – written and verbal
Punctuality and attendance. Ability to work overtime as required.
Able to read and take direction in English
Able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
Perform physical tasks all day
Work in noisy environments
Up to 20% travel within geographical work area may be required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested

Basic Qualifications
1+ years of computer networking experience
High school or equivalent diploma
1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
1+ years of data center experience
1+ years of Linux troubleshooting, such as, firmware flashes, and bios configuration experience
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, and networking.
