Amazon Customer Optimization Specialist, Customer Optimization & Acceleration in Madrid, Spain

Description

As an AWS Customer Optimization Specialist on our collaborative worldwide team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving IT transformation for fast-growing companies. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your business and technical expertise to help customers unlock the full potential of the cloud.

Your two-fold mission will be: first, to optimize cloud usage and spending through data-driven recommendations; and second, to accelerate the customer's cloud journey, guiding them as they expand their cloud footprint and pursue new innovation projects. By deeply understanding each customer's challenges, you'll provide tailored solutions that transform the way they leverage cloud technologies. This could involve reenginering processes, implementing best practices, or empowering them with the right cost management tools.

Beyond optimization, you'll also collaborate closely with customers to identify how they can reinvest optimization savings to fuel further growth. Throughout, you'll work side-by-side with your worldwide team, proactively sharing insights and learnings to ensure customers benefit from the full breadth of experience across the organization.

To thrive in this fast-paced role, you'll need exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. As a natural problem-solver, you can translate complex information into simple, actionable recommendations. And you're a passionate advocate, driven to help customers succeed. If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include serving as a trusted advisor throughout the customer lifecycle, with expertise on the cost and commercial aspects of AWS. You'll empower clients with AWS tools for effective cloud and IT spend management, assessing reporting needs, establishing KPIs, and managing strategic requests to ensure continuous progress in customer transformation.

As a passionate advocate for AWS customers, you'll drive measurable financial success and help unlock the full potential of the cloud. You'll actively share insights and best practices with the wider worldwide team, so that others can learn from your customer engagements. You’ll also work closely with the wider AWS stakeholder teams to include account managers, sales leader, solution architects during your daily interactions and through reporting mechanisms.

A day in the life

As an AWS Optimization Specialist, every day brings new opportunities to help customers succeed as part of a collaborative team. You'll start your day arriving at the office, eager to learn from your experienced colleagues and brainstorm ideas together. Diving into AWS usage data and cost analytics tools, you'll identify optimization opportunities, drawing on your team's expertise to uncover hidden savings for the customer. During a video call, you'll work alongside the customer's IT, operations and finance teams to understand their challenges and develop a tailored plan to streamline cloud utilization and reduce costs. Using AWS's suite of cost management tools, you'll provide the customer with detailed, data-driven recommendations.

Once the customer has optimized their cloud spend, you'll work with them to accelerate their journey with AWS. For example, you might help them use the money they've saved to fund a new innovation project, like a proof of concept for a third-party solution available on AWS Marketplace.
