Description

Passionate about sustainability and compelling and creative communications programmes? We're seeking a strategic and creative experienced communications professional sought to create employee-facing communications for Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) associates and leaders across Europe. As a senior manager on the Operations Internal Communications team, you will support communication efforts with various Amazon Operations stakeholders. The position will provide support for associates and managers through clear, factual and engaging communications and will lead strategic communication counsel to cross-functional partners on a wide range of complex topics. This position will take the lead on all ATS related communications across the region, interfacing with the business leadership team. Cross-Operations Sustainability communications are also a part of the remit of this role.

As a communications senior manager, you will partner closely with the business leaders, to understand the strategic agenda. You will then create compelling content in line with a business-specific editorial calendar; manage issues, changes, and crisis communications; and execute on strategic employee communications, programs, and experiences across the business. Executive communications at the VP level are part of your remit. You will insist on the highest standards, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action, and be adept at manage competing priorities. The role would suit an experienced communicator, motivated by a desire for sustained business impact. You will be someone who keeps composure in fast-moving situations, embraces ambiguity and changing tides, and is able to quickly grasp complex issues, anticipating employee questions/reactions, and prepare thorough communications strategies.

Key job responsibilities

• Work as part of the EU Operations Internal Comms team, developing internal communications plans and content with clear, tailored narratives to engage Amazon’s operations employee base

• In partnership with key business stakeholders, develop, source and deliver content including articles, videos, all team meetings, and more to drive business goals

• Partner with the EU ATS VP and their leadership team on executive communications

• Lead EU-wide announcements and projects for EU ATS and activations for sustainability in operations, as well as global sustainability communications for operations, in partnership with colleagues in the US.

• Proactively build and manage cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders, functions, and geographies

• Build stakeholder relationships across a range of businesses to establish a news agenda relevant to the specific ATS businesses

• Manage and support crisis communications as needed and look around corners for risk

• Be the employee experience advocate, representing and protecting this through all strategies and decision-making

• Raise the bar on the team through passion for internal communications, willingness to take risk, impeccable judgment, and logic and care in decision-making

• Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job

One minute you'll be writing beautifully, the next commissioning an impactful video bringing sustainability to life, then managing issues and major changes with the team. You will be innovating, delivering and measuring high-quality communications and bringing sustainability to life for operations internationally.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field

  • Experience in professional communications or public relations
