Amazon Operations Technology is the team responsible for the technology and systems that power Amazon's global supply chain and logistics network. The team is focused on developing innovative technology solutions that help Amazon operate efficiently and effectively, while providing an exceptional customer experience. The Operations Technology team is made up of software engineers, data scientists, product managers, program managers, and business analysts, who work together to develop and deliver technology solutions that enable Amazon's global operations.

Amazon's supply chain and logistics network is one of the largest and most complex in the world, spanning multiple continents and encompassing a variety of operations, such as fulfillment centers, transportation, and last-mile delivery. To manage this vast network, the Operations Technology team develops and implements advanced software systems, data analytics tools, and automation solutions.

Some of the key areas of focus for the Operations Technology team include:

Fulfillment Center Operations: Amazon operates hundreds of fulfillment centers worldwide, each with unique challenges and requirements. The Operations Technology team develops software systems and automation solutions that help optimize the movement of goods within these centers, improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Last-Mile Delivery: Amazon's last-mile delivery network is designed to get packages to customers as quickly and efficiently as possible. The Operations Technology team develops innovative solutions to optimize delivery routes, reduce delivery times, and improve the overall customer experience.

Data Analytics: To manage such a complex supply chain and logistics network, the Operations Technology team relies heavily on data analytics. The team uses advanced data analytics tools and techniques to analyze vast amounts of data, from supply chain performance metrics to customer behavior, to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.

Amazon is looking for a talented and experienced Level 5/Level 6 Program Manager to join our Operations Technology team. As a Level 5/Level 6 Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience. You will work with business stakeholders and technology teams to define program goals and objectives, develop project plans, and execute project deliverables. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and with high quality

Key job responsibilities

• As Regional Transformation Mgr you will Plan, prepare for and facilitate EMEA operational reviews. Ensure action completion and performance improvements with the stakeholders.

  • Identify areas for improvement from within Region to drive Global transformation.

  • Drive local process development/improvement.

  • Lead implementation of global initiatives and change within region.

  • May lead global projects/initiatives

*Serve as liaison between local IT and Service desk teams for systems improvements.

•Work cross functionally with the Local IT managers, operations leaders and service desk teams to document and define initiatives and drive them through execution

•Prepare strategic recommendations, roadmaps, and program updates to senior management

•Balance competing and conflicting priorities across teams; track and communicate customer issues

• Responsible for reporting and dashboards for critical metrics to illustrate progress against goals to support team activities and report to management on weekly/monthly basis.

• Be a subject matter expert across various catalogue metadata attributes and act as a thought leader in defining opportunities for automation

• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.

•Anticipate and identify project risks and issues, and develop and execute risk mitigation strategies

A day in the life

In the role, you will focus on our customer's experience and build a relationship starting from the customer and working backwards through the support organization and into the engineering teams. You will need to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and focus on Operational Excellence to improve the reliability, availability and quality for the services utilized by customers.

The role requires customer focus, creativity, a data-first orientation and experience with performance and scale. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in a fast paced, dynamic environment where your ability to dive deep, communicate, collaborate and drive changes will be a key. You will play a very important role in ensuring a great customer experience, improving customer trust in our user generated content features, with an eye on automation to help develop scalable and robust solutions

Role responsibilities include

• Deep Dive and Advanced Analytics – Identify, develop, manage, and execute analysis to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business

• Understand trends related to Amazon business and recommend strategies to stakeholders to drive business growth by providing key insights, using statistical rigor. Build trust by responding with urgency to high-priority requests

• Metrics and Reports - Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analysis, dashboards, etc. to drive key business choices. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.

• Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use

• The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand Amazon’s core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices

Basic Qualifications

Experience in program or project management

Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Experience defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics

Bachelor's degree

Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

Experience in program or project management

Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Experience defining and executing program requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Experience driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Experience driving process improvements

Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
