Description

Talent Marketing is looking for a customer-obsessed, data driven, Email Marketing Specialist to support email campaign automation and ad hoc campaign execution for our candidate marketing communications. In this role, you are responsible for executing on the email and SMS marketing strategies supporting Europe, United Kingdom, Asia Pacific and Middle East and enable Amazon to raise the bar for Lifecycle automation globally. This role will support subscription campaigns including automated flows and promotional emails supporting engagement, apply and conversion goals.

This is a hands-on role in the Journey Orchestration team for Talent Marketing, as you will provide the technical expertise to implement our messaging automation initiatives that will enable us to attract, engage and segment potential candidates and Amazon Alumni. You will raise the bar by demonstrating thorough knowledge of email and SMS text marketing, working cross functionally with Developers, Analytics, Creative and Candidate Generation teams to deliver on key efficiency goals.

You’re passionate about creating compelling experiences through email, text and messaging app technology, highly analytical, a fast learner and have a proven record of achieving success both with customers and email recipients. You are an expert in lifecycle marketing best practices, keeping abreast of emerging trends and are plugged into the digital communications industry.

Key job responsibilities

  • Implement and execute email marketing campaigns to drive applications.

  • Perform email marketing tasks including campaign set-up, designing, scheduling, testing and deploying adhoc campaigns and journeys.

  • Capture audience preferences for better targeting and implement data-driven personalisation techniques to enhance customer engagement and optimise campaign results.

  • Increase opt-in subscribers while maintaining data cleanliness. Implement strategies for acquiring new subscribers and maintaining email deliverability.

  • Optimise email templates for various platforms (Outlook, Gmail) and devices (iOS, Android) to ensure a consistent user experience.

  • Maintain the campaign calendar, tracking key milestones and deadlines to ensure seamless execution.

  • Coordinate with internal and cross-functional teams such as: Performance Marketing, Field Operations, AI&C (Audience Insights and Creative), Legal and PR to gather necessary content, assets and approvals for each campaign.

  • Work with creative team to design and develop responsive email campaigns including editing copy, HTML manipulation, layout, links and personalised and dynamic content.

  • Maintain QA process to ensure all communications are brand complaint, deployed on time and without error.

  • Manage and own email reporting requirements, monitor and analyse email campaign performance metrics including Click Through Rate (CTR), open rates, conversions, and engagement using a combination of Adobe Analytics and platform-level data.

  • Use insights from reporting to inform stakeholders of campaign effectiveness and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Provide training and support to team members on email marketing best practices and tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Previous marketing experience and proficiency in email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools.

  • Expertise in audience segmentation, personalisation strategies, and lifecycle email marketing.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of email marketing regulations and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM Act).

  • Proficient in HTML/CSS for email design and familiar with responsive email design principles.

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.

  • Thorough understanding of email and SMS marketing best practices including deliverability.

  • Technical email knowledge, including understanding of handlebars logic and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas succinctly.

  • Capability to execute campaigns with highest standards in a rapidly evolving business environment.

  • Demonstrated drive for results with the ability to manage projects independently.
