Amazon Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales and Marketing Global Services in London, United Kingdom

Description

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented transactional lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel for the Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) Sales and Marketing legal team. AWS is at the forefront of the “cloud” computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more. As part of the AWS Sales and Marking legal team, you will be responsible with supporting the AWS Global Deal Strategy and Programs (GDSP) organization, a rapidly growing team that leads some of AWS’s most complex transactions. Corporate Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to business leadership, support complex cloud technology transactions, and find and develop innovative solutions that enable us to scale legal support to our global client base.

The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. The successful candidate works well within a large legal team, but is also able to work independently on transactional and project work. Must have experience with commercial transactions and a deep understanding of contract negotiation and drafting. Prior transactional technology, sales and marketing, and/or real estate transactional experience is preferred. Prior in-house experience would be beneficial but not required.

Key job responsibilities

Key responsibilities in supporting these businesses include negotiating and drafting strategic agreements, working with cross-functional stakeholders on large strategic customer projects, innovating to modernize and scale our legal support, and advising on launches of new products and tools. This role will also participate in other AWS legal projects, including managing legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, advising on privacy issues and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

About the team

You will be joining a fast-paced, tightly-knit, and diverse legal team that delights in innovating and simplifying for its business customers. As part of the team you will participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects. In this role, you will have access and visibility with senior leadership while at the same time you will be relied upon as a mentor to more junior members.
