Amazon IST2 FC Site Lead, Turkey IST2 FC Site Leader in Istanbul, Turkey

Description

We are hiring a talented and committed Site Leader to come in and lead our Fulfillment Centre (FC) in Istanbul / Turkey (IST2). Our Site Lead is responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for an Amazon Fulfillment Center. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

The Site Leader is responsible for all aspects of the operations of a functional area for one of our Fulfillment Centers including, people management and development, process, and meeting or exceeding the expectations and promise made to our customers. The Site Leader will lead a dynamic team of Operations and Area Managers to achieve operational excellence through coaching and mentoring the team; driving employee engagement, and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center. As a senior leader a Site Leader you will oversee upwards of 800s of salaried and hourly employees, in a fast-paced, complex operations facility. The Site Leader serve as the face of the organization to employees and the community where the center is located.

Basic Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years’ Amazon work experience

• Strong operations team leadership experience (manufacturing, production or distribution environments)

• Previous FC or Operational Building leadership experience

• Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques

• Goal driven, target orientated, able to step back and look at the bigger picture (helicopter view), the ideal candidate will also be able to manage ambiguity with his/her sleeves rolled up, and possesses a preparedness to get involved

• Demonstrate strong track record of team leadership within a large scale rapid and process driven environment

• Demonstrate a strong track record of problem solving and very strong analytical skill capability as it will be necessary to look at and find solutions for a variety of operations problems

• Excellent communication skills (English written and verbally) with Turkish speaking as a MUST.

• High dependability – needs to be there to manage department

• Must be flexible and able to manage a business that operates 24/7 (including holidays) and commit the time required to get the job done.

• Demonstrate ability to manage, motivate, and influence work behaviors

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred

• Practical experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools in an industrial environment

• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
