Description

The role of FinOps Payments Specialist (L4) for EMEA Payments is to manage AP payments for EMEA region covering 40+ countries processing 6.3B USD payments per annum. The key deliverables include managing 6K payment templates and 9K schedules, ensure successful completion of payment batches before bank cut-off, ensure on-time processing and approval of manual/Fx payments and resolution of payment queries received through SIM. The manager is responsible to monitor bank statements for any reject/returned items and take corrective actions on a daily basis. The specialist is also responsible to manage Daily/Monthly process metrics, MBR/QBR document inputs and meetings with peers and stakeholders. The specialist is also responsible to monitor adherence and improvement of process controls, perform process audits and create/update SOPs.

Key job responsibilities

The specialist is expected to deliver the below goals :-

a. To achieve TTR TP90 Goal of 18 days and TT ageing goal of 2.25% for > 90 days ageing bucket and 13.5% for >30 <90days ageing bucket.

b. To achieve HMD (How is my drive) TTM goal of 19.9% and perform dive deep RCA and implement path to green for negative responses.

c. Prepare forecasts and payment calendar for Month end and AWS lease vendors by 20th of each month and achieve 100% on-time payment success.

d. Prepare forecasts and execution plan for Bank holidays of following month by 25th of each month and achieve 100% on-time payment success.

e. To ensure tickets assigned to EMEA Payments are actioned in 3 business days for payment inquiries, within same day for ad-hoc urgent payment batches for legal and business critical payments and within due date for Tax payments.

f. Performs dive deep on SLA miss/escalations tickets to identify and fix gaps in the process

g. Monitor bank statements to ensure rejected/returned transactions are actioned in 3 business days. This needs co-ordination with FOAA, Fintech and banks.

h. Prepare MBR/QBR documents for leadership reviews by 5th of every month.

i. Preparation of daily/monthly process metrics, GRC controls, quality check and conduct quarterly review of SOP’s

j. Prepare enhancement and bank issues tracker for monthly discussions and determining prioritization with program and technical teams

k. To be 100% compliant with all people management related tasks and deadlines.

A day in the life

Perform root cause analyses on vendor and invoice level.

Identify, analyze and resolve issues related to payment failures, delays or variances.

Support bank traces, payment inquiries investigations with data analyses and reporting.

Contribute to metrics and reporting.

Interaction with internal stakeholders, vendor managers, financial communication partners, business partners.

Support with transactional work (reports, queries, etc).

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance experience

  • 3+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience

  • Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

  • Experience in managing finance operations for accounts payable, accounts receivable or payroll

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable (AP) experience
