Description

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will work within multiple tools and data sets to organize and adjust existing data sets, as well as create reporting on data trends that impact the business. You will translate basic business problem statements into analysis requirements. Candidates will be customer obsessed in their pursuit of data clarity and reporting. Successful candidates have track records of partnering with cross functional teams to create data alignment and visibility of data to enable businesses to make optimal resourcing decisions.

We are looking for someone with a broad background of data analytics, strong business acumen, who takes ownership of their work, and is focused on customer needs. The successful candidate will communicate crisply to management. They will have an ability to make data-driven conclusions and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Key job responsibilities

Key job responsibilities:

  • Enter inputs into HC model and update model for each planning cycle

  • Implement improvements in the VHC model

  • Analysis where additional HC is needed, by team and region

  • Drives accuracy in the build plan (changes from OP to latest rev)

  • Audits internal HC allocation tool

  • Funnel metrics (can use yardstick)

  • Design, implement and support an analytical data infrastructure

  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers

  • Work closely with business partners and recruiting to support ongoing efforts

  • Build automated data solutions in Excel, Tableau, etc.

  • Deep dive data to understand and resolve discrepancies

  • Communicate actions/recommendations to customers/stakeholders in both written and verbal formats

  • Create reports highlighting key insights and trends

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL

  • Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
