Amazon Data and Digital Transformation (D2T) Implementation Leader, Public Sector Data and Digital Transformation (D2T) in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

Partner with US State and Local Government leadership to explore the art of the possible with the most sophisticated modern data, analytics, and digital experience tools available in the cloud today. The D2T team collaborates with AWS Field Teams and dedicated subject matter experts to drive necessary people and process change to help public sectors customers become more resilient and intelligent consumers of cloud infrastructure. The D2T team is motivated to solve for real government data needs, drive policy change through better data analytics and insights, and leverage innovative technology as an implementation accelerator. The D2T team develops and explores mental models, frameworks, and repeatable patterns to meet challenges faced by state and local government customers every day. The team shares findings nationally and disseminates best practices and lessons learned across states to improve the scope of impact.

As part of the D2T team, you will have exciting opportunities to engage with innovative state and local government leaders to improve data-driven and human-centered capabilities. The team leads with empathy and understands the importance of change management and stakeholder engagement for the most effective modernization and transformation projects. Cloud technology today is sophisticated and can feel complex. The D2T team leverages team expertise and decades of experience serving state and local government to help shepherd successful adaption and adoption of modern data and digital experience best practices in the cloud for our customers. We enjoy working hard to drive data and analytics growth by removing people and process barriers to successful implementation.

The technology world is rapidly evolving, and the D2T team is constantly learning and being curious about what is next for state and local government, and updating foundational models to improve outcomes and deliver real results, using risk reduction, "built for change" frameworks that allow states to grow and evolve in a changing technology and data landscape.

Key job responsibilities

  • Engage and build trusted partnerships with State, Agency and Department leadership related to data, technology, and policy, especially at the directorate and executive level (e.g., CDO, CIO, CTO, Secretary, Director, Deputy Director, etc.).

  • Deliver against known patterns for innovation and data modernization, bringing coaching skills and implementation science to build sustained change management across organizations.

  • Translate executive goals across technical, data, and policy leadership. Provide the frameworks necessary to help executives understand and support each other across diverse lines of business, data, and technical capabilities.

  • Work with AWS partners to influence and develop solutions and delivery mechanisms that align with the D2T Team's best practices and mental models for public sector.

  • Perform business development functions to lead strategic engagements, partner with internal AWS teams, and support AWS partners in the field.

  • Develop strategic messaging, research and develop patterns and implementation strategies, and look around corners to anticipate how technology development will intersect with update operational and business of SLG consumers.

  • This role requires some travel to work in-person with states, often in state capitols. This role will focus on eastern state implementation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
