Amazon Principal Software Engineer , Amazon WW Promotions in Berlin, Germany
Description
You will deliver a technical vision for consolidation of WW Promotions stack. This vision will serve as the north star guidance about how we can automatically raise the quality bar of the promotions we show to shoppers and how to unify the quality bar across different promotion types, how we can automatically modify running promotions to optimize the shopper as well as promotion owner experience. Your vision will provide the architectural flexibility required to innovate in the space, by unifying promotion quality bar for all promotion types. You will guide the team on how we should prioritize the consolidation efforts to enable this vision while ensuring the services continue to serve millions of customers with exciting promotions every day, even during migrations. You will create the vision on how we can handle the events like Prime Day, taking into account the yearly increase of promotion items.
You will work on a broad set of customer problems regarding the promotions space, inspect the existing systems in a new organization and create a compelling technical vision that drives the changes in this consolidated space. You will work with leaders in the WW Promotions organization to realize this vision and work with Sr.SDEs to ensure the team can deliver designs that require insisting on highest standards to be able to run events focused on promotions.

Basic Qualifications
Experience of working as a Principle Engineer or equivalent
Experienced in building services on Cloud services or Hybrid platforms
Experience of Ecommerce platforms
Experienced mentor and coach to technical leaders
Experience of building relationships and influencing senior leaders
Very strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Building services related to discounts and promotions
Experience in building services with Machine Learning
