Description

Amazon is looking for a talented art director to be part of our Advertising and Creative Services team, D1, based in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will provide customer solutions through the conceptualization of unique ideas that encompass advertising campaign design, on-site (Amazon app) and digital.

The art director will work in close partnership with creative directors, the design team, copywriters, and the marketing team. You will produce innovative design solutions for user-centred experiences spanning within and beyond Amazon channels. You are a natural idea generator with a profound understanding of hands-on design and technology. Prior experience in a digital agency, advertising agency, or creative environment is preferred.

Key job responsibilities

Work with creative directors, senior art directors, copywriters, and the and the design team to develop design concepts, gather information, discuss alternatives, gain approval, and review design specifications.

Fluency in moving from understanding and interpreting strategy to developing initial concepts;

This also includes building brand guidelines to establish implementation across a range of different applications for Campaign, digital, packaging, print and onsite creatives

  • A strategic, creative, and analytical thinker with deep experience and proven achievement in digital and cross-channel campaign work,

  • Create concepts, sketches, graphics, and high-fidelity executions in support of onsite, digital, print, packaging, branding, and marketing campaigns

  • Create new style conventions that unify the brand with a solid creative vision across all mediums.

  • Present and defend your own work and that of your team to peers, stakeholders, and senior executives

  • Understand and respond to performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and steer the direction of future creative designs ability to work cross-team and manage feedback from the creative team, business partners, campaign managers, and marketers.

  • Distil complex creative concepts into understandable design solutions and clearly rationalise strategic thinking and design rationale to stakeholders.

  • Understand usability and design principles that help drive successful campaigns.

  • Analyse marketing challenges that meet measurable business goals and requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts/Visual Design/Visual Communication/Graphic Design related creative studies.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of equivalent and proven work experience in respective fields

  • Stand out portfolio with examples of work across multiple channels, including social, print, campaign and digital.

  • Intermediate/high proficiency in design principles like typography, composition, scale, colour theory and an advance knowledge of how those principles work together

  • Unwavering attention to detail and an acute awareness that everything counts.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced global online environment

  • Expert understanding of graphic design and manipulation of graphic design elements

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time to meet tight deadlines

  • Digital platform design experience and understanding for cross platform design guidelines

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prototyping and wire-framing experience and working knowledge of related tools like Figma Working in an international environment

  • Illustration and sketching

  • Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business and advertisers’ priorities
