Amazon Senior UX Designer, OpsTech IT in Bellevue, Washington

Description

OpsTech IT organization, with an unparalleled scope, is part of the Amazon’s WW Operations & Robotics team. We design, deploy and support IT infrastructure, devices and Services across Amazon’s Global Fulfillment Centers, Transportation (Middle Mile, Last Mile & Logistics), and Specialty Customer Solutions (Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry, Campus, and Prime Air). Our customers range from Amazon lockers to Amazon’s Air Hubs.

We are looking for a talented Sr. UX Designer to help design our next generation systems. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional group of UX researchers, engineers, product managers, and executives to propose and deliver the best possible customer experience for our products.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ideation skills, holistic design thinking, attention to detail, and passion for making difficult tasks into simple and delightful experiences for the user. You must be able to work with ambiguity in a fast paced environment and deliver design that elevates the customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the CX from beginning to end and ensure product/feature is built to spec and achieves project goals.

  • Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations.

  • Translate research findings into actionable insights and design solutions.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design concepts.

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals.

  • Iterate designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and data analysis.

  • Work inventively around constraints and navigate ambiguous situations.

  • Be a passionate and effective advocate for design with non-design audiences.

  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with local and remote cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

  • Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps

  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
