AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

As a Solutions Architect (SA), you should partner with customers, AWS BD, and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. In collaboration with BD, you should help drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers. As a trusted customer advocate, you should help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions. You should seek out opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mind-share and broaden the use of the AWS platform across the customer's organization. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. As part of the commercial team, you'll focus on advising our enterprise customers on how to best adopt and leverage the value of AWS technology. This is an ideal position for someone who has experience with enterprise customers, a deep understanding of enterprise applications and infrastructure, and a solid understanding of the transformative value that cloud technology can bring.

You enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and develop new ones so you can make meaningful contributions to long-term customer success.

Key job responsibilities

• Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for their most critical workloads that support their digital transformation and journey to the cloud.

• Support achievement of revenue objectives through the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services onto the AWS platform, in partnership with the sales team.

• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.

• Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications such as white-papers and blogs as a means of scaling your knowledge.

• Act as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address customer needs.

• Day-to-day; Gather business requirements (both functional and non-functional), Propose solutions, Proof of concepts, Demos (presenting technical topics to a non-technical client audience)

• Serve as a key technical owner of the Business Development team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS platform.

• Scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.

• Own each technical engagement, capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community.

• Understand the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

• Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
