Key job responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Software Dev Manager to manage Amazon retail marketing services to serve billions of worldwide customers. You will manage a highly talented and motivated team of software engineers to architect, develop, test and deploy high quality software solutions with a dedicated customer focus. You will be a tech leader to define future direction and growth of the services, you will work closely with product, user experience designers, and engineers to define, design, and implement our product and customer experience. You will develop relationships with partner teams, and support many client technical teams as away teams to innovate for customers. You will lead team to keep enhancing the operational excellence to meet all resilience requirements of tier-1 services.

Japan Marketing Automation team is a high-performing group that leverages Amazon’s expertise in machine learning, big data, and distributed systems to deliver the best shopping experiences for our customers. We work full stack, from foundational backend systems to future-forward user interfaces. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
