Amazon Senior Program Manager, Amazon Logisitics in Barcelona, Spain

Description

Are you interested in defining the future tech requirements for Amazon’s global delivery operations? Amazon Logistics (AMZL) delivery operations are on pace to become one of the largest parcel carriers in the world. This Senior Program Manager is accountable for influencing business-critical decisions around the operations tech that enable scale and deliver consistent, industry leading, performance. The Senior Program Manager will support the development and delivery of high-performance delivery systems. This person will statistically analysis and diagnose processes and Lean tools in order to identify improvement opportunities, prescribe improvement strategies and guide the improvement effort. In this role, you will manage large, complex initiatives and advocate on behalf of the customer to provide high-performance app based solutions to the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and improve tools for product and process design. Thought leadership in operational excellence, product development and phase gate systems.

  • Provide technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects in the use of tools like Value Stream Mapping.

  • Work with complex Material Handling Equipment, automation, robotics and process design based on Lean Manufacturing.

  • Coordinate design efforts between internal teams to develop optimal solutions for the network, including equipment specification, material flow, and process design.

  • Ensures critical path timelines are met, resource needs are understood and project prioritization is visible to Sr leadership

  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal business partners. Facilitate process improvement initiatives among site operations, engineering, and corporate systems groups.

  • Work closely with operations, product teams and engineering teams to root cause and solve complex problems related to increasing capability and reliability of our delivery systems

  • Travel up to 25%

Key job responsibilities

• Support in design, build, and improve tools for product and process design

• Provide technical leadership for large-scale Tech solutions across EU

• Coordinate design efforts between internal teams to develop optimal solutions for the network considering geo nuances

• Ensure critical path timelines are met, resource needs are understood and project prioritization is visible to Sr. leadership

• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal business partners

• Facilitate process improvement initiatives among site operations, engineering, and corporate systems groups

• Work closely with operations, product teams and engineering teams to root cause and solve complex problems related to increasing capability and reliability of our delivery systems

• Prioritize Routing and planning initiatives with LMT and other tech global teams by strongly justifying business impact and achieve customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
