Description

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Analyst to join GTS- Audit team. In this role you will be driving audit data support requests coming our way by understanding the requirements, planning, scoping, executing and providing data solution to our business customers. This team sits within Global Tax Services. The team is seeking an exceptionally capable and motivated individual to help deliver Tax Technology support within Audit team for our Indirect Tax function. This position opening is based in the Barcelona or Bratislava.

Ideally we are looking for candidates who has strong data analytical skill along with Tax experience. This role requires a self-starter with strong data analytical skills, a keen attention to detail and good track record of hitting deadlines. Successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple requests and efficiently execute deliverables. You will use your analytical skills and demonstrate your ability to interpret clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.

Key job responsibilities

As Senior Business Analyst you are expected to support Indirect Tax Audits globally and work in support of Audit Readiness. As part of audit team responsibilities your responsibility would include

• Supporting indirect Tax team on Tax audit on daily basis

• Diving deep into the details to develop meaningful findings and provide required data

• Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context

• Own end to end ‘Audit request’ case from gathering requirements to solutions ensuring deliverables within the deadline

• Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know when, how, and which to use

• Documenting processes, data flows etc

• Build partnership with Tax, Finance and Accounting customers

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting, Business, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent experience

• Substantial experience as a business analyst, data analyst, statistical analysis, data engineering role within a technology environment

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools

• Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required

• Proficiency with Alteryx

• Strong Analytical skills – has ability to start from ambiguous problem statements, identify and access relevant data, make appropriate assumptions, perform insightful analysis and draw conclusion relevant to the business problem.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems in simple plain stories.

• Excellent writing skills- experience in writing business documents, process flow, building flow-chart

• Ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within Tax/ Accounting /Finance

• Familiarity with API's, Javascript, python

• Knowledge of data management and modeling fundamentals and data storage principles

• Amazon tools for example experience on AWS
