Amazon Software Development Engineer, Selling Partner Financial Technology in Bangalore, India

Selling on Amazon is one of Amazon’s fastest growing businesses. Since third-party sellers joined Amazon in 1999, they’ve grown to account for 58% of Amazon sales and are growing at 52% a year (compared to 25% for first-party sales by Amazon). Third-party sellers reported $1.5 billion in sales during Prime Day 2018. The Selling Partner Services team drives this multi-billion dollar business and develops solutions that enable millions of Selling Partners around the world to sell in Amazon Stores with access to 300 million active customers in more than 180 countries. The team is focused on building new features and services to help Selling Partners grow with Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

Participate in the design, development, implementation, testing and documentation of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using Java, Object Oriented Design and Distributed Programming. Translate functional requirements into robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture. Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance. Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools. Mentor junior development engineers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
