Amazon Sr. Strategic Supply Chain Mgr in Arlington, Virginia

Description

As a Sr. Strategic Supply Chain Manager you will own defining and executing a Supply Chain Roadmap for several of our largest and most strategic categories in Home and Kitchen. You will collaborate with a team of Product, Vendor, and Customer Service Managers to drive process improvements for the vendors with a goal of maximizing product availability and operational excellence. In this critical role, you are going to help redefine Supply Chain to align it with Amazon procurement systems and to bring collaboration with strategic vendors to the next level.

The successful candidate must be highly organized, self-starting and possess strong data extraction and analytical capabilities. They must have proven successes in cost out operational initiatives and demonstrate passion for the customer experience. They must be fearless but thoughtful in their pursuit of results and thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.

Strong candidates will have hands-on operations or inventory management experience and knowledge in fundamental business principles. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to succeed in managing a large catalog selection efficiently, identifying problems/finding solutions, and building/improving processes. The ideal candidate is able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key job responsibilities

-Identifying and delivering improvement opportunities around demand and production planning

-Monitoring, analyzing and owning Key Performance Indicators such as: Out of Stock rate, Total Inbound lead time, confirmation rates, including presenting insights, themes and trends to Senior Leadership.

-Analyzing production and delivery lead-times and operational excellence inputs such as EDI adoption, PO confirmations and fulfillment, efficient receive process and inventory placement.

-Identify opportunities to improve cost structure and profitability and work with partner teams on execution

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Experience working with complex data sets

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of statistics or other analytical techniques

  • Experience with SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
