Amazon Finance Manager, AWS Sales in Arlington, Virginia

In this role, you’ll be at the center of driving AWS’s sales strategy, partnering directly with the Worldwide Specialist Analytics and Streaming Services to optimize investments and drive revenue. You’ll collaborate with senior Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Finance leaders to build financial plans, analyze large-scale investment opportunities, develop new go-to-market strategies, and identify opportunities for business growth. You will play key roles in both running the day-to-day business and helping drive strategic growth for the future.

You are a well-rounded performer and will play an impactful role on the team. You demonstrate excellent business judgment and problem solving, and possess strong attention to detail.

Key Job responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the key finance partner supporting the WWSO leaders providing financial support and business insights

  • Provide industry and segment analysis to develop go-to-market strategies for new and existing services

  • Create and implement business mechanisms that are scalable to help the team make data-driven decisions

  • Lead the development of financial models and advanced analytical tools that aid in key decision making

  • Build rhythm of the business processes that help business leaders understand progress to goals as well as strategic insights to guide overall direction

  • Collect, analyze and present data-driven research that challenges status quo and champion change

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis proactively and present findings to senior leadership

Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to play a key role on our AWS Worldwide Specialists (WWSO) Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a groundbreaking team. Job responsibilities include:

  • Proven track record of developing processes, building cross functional relationships and delivering results

  • Advanced modeling skills including advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent business judgment, including strong written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in an energetic, fast-paced environment

  • Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving

  • Ability to lead teams in a cross-functional setting

  • Highly innovative and flexible; ability to work with autonomy

  • Knowledge of SQL and other analytical tools preferred

  • MBA or similar degree is preferred

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • MBA, or CPA

  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
