Amazon Content Governance Architect, Worldwide Field Enablement - Knowledge Management & Governance in Arlington, Virginia

The Knowledge Management & Governance team is seeking an experienced Program Manager to own Content Governance stakeholder consulting and quarterly audits to ensure content adheres to security, privacy, and compliance policies. This program management position is for content on enablement systems that support the AWS Field (Sales professionals such as Account Managers and Solutions Architects). The role involves partnering with Legal and Security to interpret policies, working with Field teams to prioritize content needs, and collaborating with subject matter experts and content authors to calibrate on content quality and security standards.

The breadth of content programs spans many areas: communications, stakeholder management, content analytics, governance, inspection, and security. Program management of these initiatives requires successful collaboration across cross-functional teams, including Technical Content, Product Marketing Management, Specialized Sales, Go-to-Field Enablement, Operations, Legal, Security, and Training & Certification. For each initiative, the Program Manager will provide guidance, plan the implementation, measure success, and communicate results. The ideal candidate shows obsession for customers, and works backwards to understand their needs. They have broad experience working on global, cross-functional content programs, and they have the experience needed to present and lead conversations about project issues, solutions, and strategy to leadership and stakeholders. This person also has demonstrated leadership in delivering results in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Train content authors in following content policies, protocols, and SOPs.

• Collaborate with Legal and Security to create content policies, protocols, and SOPs.

• Identify opportunities for automating auditing and review mechanisms.

• Teach service owners how to incorporate security and privacy concerns into design and operational excellence (OE).

• Review content against security and privacy policies.

• Continuously look for and self-educate on new security and privacy policies (across legal, HR, privacy, and security teams) that may impact content creation guidelines.

• Identify content risk to drive group decisions about policy, audit mechanisms to detect policy violations, and processes to triage and/or deprecate violating content.

• Resolve debate about applicability of specific content security policies.

• Iterate with service owners to make final policy decisions.

About the team

The Knowledge Management and Governance (KMG) team is focused on providing the best experience for the Field related to their interactions with enablement content and the information they need to succeed in their roles. The team: 1/Provides content management and support for content owners across Sales, Marketing, and Global Services; 2/Establishes and enforces content standards for the content available to the Field through our various systems; 3/Enforces an information architecture and governance model that ensures for content freshness, quality, and alignment to requirements; 4/Establishes the business requirement for technical functionality needed to facilitate enablement for the Field.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
