Amazon Principal Technical Manager, US ADC Security, US ADC Security in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Description

AWS Security owns building and executing security standards for physical and logical Security across Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions. The Principal Technical Manager will work leverage US ADC Security Technical Program Managers and work with ADC customers and AWS stakeholders to define the roadmap and strategies for logical, physical, and operations security capabilities in ADC regions. In this role, the Principal Technical Manager will own proposal development on behalf of ADC Security teams to support the development of new security solutions.

Where AWS needs to meet new customer commitments, the Principal Technical Manager will engage stakeholders and manage the development roadmap between AWS teams to deliver against customer commitments that impact AWS Security.

With a broad mandate to experiment and innovate in US ADC Security, we are growing at an unprecedented rate to support the rapid growth in the ADC business. The US ADC Security team is highly motivated to optimize security in ADC regions by defining one standard for ADC regions that considers the unique needs of ADC customers and encompasses AWS Security best practices employed in AWS Commercial regions.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee budgeting of capital expenditures and operating expenses in line with management targets

  • Deliver innovative approaches to meet complex challenges by interacting with business partners (e.g. Finance, Human Resources and Recruiting)

  • Create and deliver mechanisms to inform progress and senior leader decision making cycles

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management, or similar technical leadership role;

  • 5+ years of experience managing technical program management teams and/or software engineering teams;

  • 5+ years of experience with software development lifecycle from conception to delivery;

  • 5+ years of experience working independently to design, plan, and execute technical projects;

  • 3+ years of experience with data management and data analytics tools and systems, such as but not limited to SQL, Quicksight, Redshift, Python or other scripting languages

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with a Full-Scope Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing large scale enterprise projects, gathering and communicating technical requirements

  • Experience solving challenging engineering problems with multiple constraints

  • Experience with identity management, billing and payments processes and automation

  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of technical program management and engineering best practices

  • Experience driving overall strategy and teams across organizations

  • Experience in service-oriented and web-service technologies

  • Experience with cross-organizational communication to both technical- and non-technical audiences from engineers to VPs
